• Isle of Shadows^® is proud to announce the continuation and expansion of our educational series on BDSM. These courses are free, open to the public and are part of an effort to help people interested in BDSM better understand the lifestyle. Though these classes are free all of our instructors have worked hard to develop these presentations and lectures. Our instructors are all volunteers and have donated their time to present these lectures. Donations to the Island and gratuity offered to the instructors is highly appreciated.

Course Descriptions

• Exploring BDSM - What is it & Where do I fit in?

Exploring BDSM is an introductory level course, focused towards people interested in experiencing the BDSM lifestyle. This course covers historical aspects of BDSM, motivators, behavior, communication, limits and setting expectations.

• NEW! BDSM Pyschology - Defining Abuse in BDSM 

Defining Abuse in BDSM is a self help course designed to look at an often ignored and serious issue within the BDSM community. This course discusses the aspects of abuse within BDSM, who can be affected, potential resolutions and red flags to look for. The course is open to the public and presented for everyone in the BDSM community.

• BDSM Etiquette

BDSM Etiquette is mid level course. This course explains the intricacies of proper etiquette for both the dominant and submissive. Communication, dispelling assumptions, and every day situations within the lifestyle. Participants are recommended to have some level of experience within the BDSM lifestyle.

• Exploring Roleplay

Exploring Roleplay is an introductory level course. This course explains the intricacies of proper roleplay. Using your imagination and the tools within SL to develop better role play and emoting practices.

•  BDSM Psychology

BDSM Psychology is an advanced level course targeted towards both dominants and submissives with experience in the BDSM lifestyle. This course discusses the intricacies of psychological factors within a BDSM relationship and their effects on the participants, motivation, awakening, the avoidance of potential drama. 

• Submission-What you should expect

This is an introductory level course focused towards submissives or people interested in the submiisive aspects of the BDSM lifestyle. This course discusses basic duties, protocol, and behavior for the new submissive both public and private.

• Dominant relations & retaining submissives - What does it take?

This is a mid level course targeted towards masters, mistresses, and anyone else who owns or plans to own slaves in SL™ , especially BDSM sex slaves. The focus is on long term owner-slave relationships, and/or retention of slaves once acquired. Participants are recommended to have some level of experience within the BDSM lifestyle.

• BDSM Strategy for Submissives

This is a mid level course conducted by targeted towards submissives and anyone else seeking a master or mistress. The focus is on being submissive, attracting a dominant and the power exchange. Participants are recommended to have some level of experience within the BDSM lifestyle.

• Domination "The Dominants Self Discovery"

This is an advanced course is focused towards dominants and asks the difficult self exploration questions. The focus is helping dominant discover the strengths and weaknesses, interactions with their submissives and BDSM relationships.

• *Comming Soon* Weekly Roundtable Discussion

Every week Isle of Shadows invites dominants and submissives to participate in an open weekly roundtable discussion on various topics related to the BDSM community. The topics will be listed in the event calender. This is an open forum allowing free exchange of ideas between those within the lifestyle. All participants will be allowed to express their opinions openly.

• House of Shadows/Isle of Shadows^® is actively seeking Dominants and submissives of all genders and styles to help with training and education at our facility and island.

• Isle of Shadows^® strives to be the best BDSM training and educational facility in SL™ . All of our instructors are top notch, most with experience in RL as well as SL. We are constantly seeking new ideas for classes and trying to offer the most variety in training options.

• If you feel you are up to the challenge, are reliable, and want to share your knowledge and experience, then Isle of Shadows^® is seeking your expertise. This is an unpaid position. However tipping instructors is encouraged.
